I've had this friend for years. And years.
She's one of my oldest internet friends, and I've been online for over 10 years. We've never met.
I remember the first one-on-one conversation we had. I said, in a public forum, "Hey Sue! I like you!" She replied, "Hey Stacy, I like you too!"
We've talked on the phone numerous times.
We've instant messaged more times than I can count.
I know her kids, and she knows mine, though we've never laid eyes on each other's.
I know her dog, Truman, and how often he poops, and where.
She knows my cat, Ashlie, and watched her grow from fist-sized bundle of fur to the fat, lazy slobcat she is now.
She painted her dining room red, I painted my family room red.
She and I are word nerds together. If I have a grammar question, I ask Sue. (Punctuation questions go to Elaine. lol)
She's Sicilian. She's fiery. She's snarky. She's loyal. She's funny. She's smart. She's my friend.
And I get to meet her IN SEVEN DAYS!!! :D

Green with envy here! I assume you are referring to Upper Midwest...I'm about ready to crash! It's only a 5 hour drive...
How exciting! Isn't it crazy how close you can get to someone you've never met? I dream of scrapbooking or taking a trip with some of the people I've met online! So jealous! Have a blast!

I'm so anxious, too...I can't sleep lately thinking about this trip. I keep envisioning the moment you come off the plane and I'm waiting (cue romantic...uhhh...I mean upbeat...music in the background) to see if you recognize me! LOL!

I have met a few friends from way back when....moving around so much makes it easier to do..
I think since we first "chatted" I have moved from Alaska, to Oklahoma, to California, to Kansas, to Texas now!! WoW, have I moved that many times in 10 years??
